My mom and dad have some wood painted blocks that belonged to my sister. DS loves to play with them, but I won't let him put them in his mouth. No idea if they have lead paint or not.
Anyone know how I could check this out? Or do you know where I can buy some new blocks to take over there?
Re: Lead paint and toys bought in 1983-ish
It probably depends on where they were made.Homes in the US were not painted w/ lead paint in the 80's but I don't know about toys, esp if they are from China. Even today there are some bad ones out there.
DS has some nice Melissa and Doug wooden blocks that were around $13.00. We bought them at Barnes & Noble but they are sold everywhere.
You can buy lead tesing kits for not a lot of money at most hardware stores. You can test the toys yourself to see if they have lead paint.
