I'm sure this question has already been asked so I apologize.

How many cloth diapers do you have? DH and I are trying to get an idea of how many we need when the baby arrives. TIA

I'd say we have about 30 for DS. How many you buy depends on how often you want to do laundry. Newborns go through a lot of diapers, so you may want a few more. Recs on here include 3 doz prefolds and 4-6 covers.

if you want to wash every 3 days with a newborn, i would start with 40 minimum.  that's changing every 2 hours around the clock and a few for while you are doing laundry.  Note that this gives no room for peeing during a diaper change and needing to change an extra time.  For newborns, the ladies here recommend prefolds and covers with a Snappi to hold everything in place.  This is the most economical, since you will need a lot and the babe will outgrow them fairly quickly.  GL!

We went through 80 prefolds per week (had a service back then), so our estimates would be less than others; we also never had more than 2 covers although occasionally I'd wish for one more.
