WWYD: is this worth calling the on call doc?

On Thursday, at K's appt, the dr saw what she thought was a yeast rash. It didn't look really yeast-y to me, so I didn't fill it. Now it's looking like the dr was right.

We were going to fill the script on our way home from the football game last night, and the script must have fallen out of my pocket somewhere. I have no idea where it is.

Our clinic no longer has Sunday urgent care, so no doc in house to have write a new one.

Would you have them paged and have them call one in, or wait until clinic opens tomorrow?

I'm inclined to wait until tomorrow, but at the same time, I don't want her butt to suffer either...

  • Can you just pick up an OTC ointment until tomorrow? I use the generic Lotrimin for DD and it works great.

I think this is what I would do. Although, it should be pretty easy for the oncall doc to look at her chart and call in the script for you.

  • I hadn't even thought of using an OTC...thanks!

  • the OTC stuff is expensive but it works.  we got generic stuff from CVS.
  • The generic Monistat 3-day worked great for us and less $ than our RX copay!

Hope your girl feels better soon - that pic from the fair is beyond cute!
  • OTC Lotrimin is all I ever used on our LO. Works great. Now that you know what the rash looks like, you can even save a trip to the Dr. next time. :) Hope your LOs bum is feeling better soon.

we didn't go in for the rash, she noticed it when we went in for something else.

I'm still not 100% sure it's yeast, at least it doesn't look like the yeast rashes I typically see on my patients...but my stepmom is a NICU nurse, and babysitting tonight, so I'm going to ask her opinion before treating anyways.

This, I never used a RX product for yeast.
