I had an ultrasound yesterday and it showed 17 follicles, but only 5 measured over 15. I had 7 that were between 12.5 & 14. My E2 was 1126. I was just wondering about how your # of follicles on the ultrasound compared to the # of mature eggs that were retrieved?
Re: IVFer's- # of follicles vs. # of mature eggs?
IVF #1 - ~30 follicles, 21 retrieved, 19 mature
IVF #2 - ~30 follicles, 26 retrieved, 16 mature
I had two different RE's do my retrievals and with my first IVF, my E2 was 5000+, where as with my second one, my E2 was 2500-3000.
I believe they saw 14 follicles on the ultrasound (or at least there were just 14 measurable ones). There were 14 retrieved, 10 were mature, and 8 fertilized.
I always showed over 10 follicles but I had a small number that were big throughout my monitoring. The rest really caught up at the end. GL!
Both IVFs I had 20 eggs retrieved, 18 mature, and 12 and 10 fertilized normally.
I can't remember exactly how many follies I had on u/s prior but it was always less than the 20 they retrieved (maybe 15 total?)
Depending on when you trigger, you could be in really great shape...either way I think you look good. My dr actually wanted me to get less eggs for my 2nd IVF (less did fertilize) stating they migh be better quality that way.
Good luck!!
