Nipple Shields - Australian Wool?

I don't know if they are technically called "shields" but the pads you put in your bra to absorb leaking.  I just found out I am a lucky leaker.  I hate these lanshinoh ones....they are hard to put back in without bunching.  wondering if anyone has had experience with the australian wool pads?

Re: Nipple Shields - Australian Wool?

  • They are called breast pads but I know what you mean :)  The Lansinoh extra thin are ok but I hear you on the bunching. One trick is to not use the adhesive and just remove the pad before you nurse and then replace after (and many times I'm putting in a new one anyway since if it's wet at all it needs to be replaced or you risk getting thrush).  But onto wool... I have some wool ones called Lanacare - what I like about them is they are big and keep me warm which has become an issue since my nips are so sensative.  But I don't like that while I'm lying down and/or sleeping they slide in a way that makes them ineffective, and the fact that when they are wet they are wet and they take a while to dry so in the meantime I'm either without or back to disposables (need to buy more obviously).  I also have some Imse Vimse wool pads that are lined in silk on the nipple side.  Comfy but IMO inferior to the Lanacare brand.  If you get any wool pads buy some wool wash at the same time so they will stay lanolized.
