I think I've asked this before, but anyway. Does anyone use Schwan's? We got a sample meal today and it was actually very tasty...seems like I could make a number of things from some of their cheaper items (especially the individually packaged chicken items) and keep things in the deep freeze. Delivery was very convenient, too, since they told me what time they were coming. I am tempted...anyone use it? Opinions?

Re: NTR: Anyone use Schwan's?
Expensive, but their customer service is absolutely fantastic.
For example:
I ordered a box of orange sherbet push pops from a fundraiser at my school. I was given a delivery window by the fundraiser booklet. I gave them a call the last day of the window (late in the evening) to see what the plan was because I wasn't going to be home the next evening and it was a frozen item. They apologized, and then said when it does get there (the delivery would be a day late from the window, it was scheduled in their computer) to take a pizza from them for free. So the next evening, the Schwanns guy, the push pops, and my free pizza were at my door.
The next day, at my door was a large foam cooler. I opened it, and what did I find? A box of push pops on dry ice, drop shipped from Minnesota, for my troubles.
The only companies I have found with comparable service are Medela and Kitchenaid.

We do, but not all the time. The only thing that I have ever purchased from them that I did not like were their french toast sticks. They had a weird taste. Here is what we buy regularly from them or have bought in the past:
Green Bean Fries, French Bread, Parmesean Chicken Breasts, Onion Rings, Baby Bakers (potatoes), the steak for Cheese Steak sandwiches which we put on the french bread, strawberry sorbet, strawberry paleta bars (they are new and delicious), My husband buys the flatbread melts and teriyaki chicken bowls, we also buy the sweet corn, and I know there is more but I can't think right now. Oh, their pizza is yummy too.
I love that they delivery to my home and have saved us trips to the grocery store when our food supply is running low. For the quality and taste of their food and the home delivery, I think their prices are reasonable.
I have to agree-- I am surprised the prices are not higher. Given that they come to your house and whatnot. And the quantities are large enough that I would be looking to use many of the things multiple times instead of all at once, which means that $10 a bag for something isn't necessarily $10 for a dinner. I am very tempted. I am kind of stuck in a rut at the grocery store and I see some things I know that DD would love but I just don't have the time or patience to figure out how to make. Also, the meal I got was REALLY good.
