Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

NTR: Help me remember all the crap I need for a newborn.

'Cause I'm 31 weeks pregnant as of today and need to start buying stuff.

What am I forgetting?

- diapers
- layering onesies
- socks (all of C's newborn socks have mysteriously disappeared/been eaten by the dog)
- a pack of pacifiers (C's a thumbsucker, we gave all of his away)
- swaddling blankets/receiving blankets
- pump for me, bottles of some sort
- extra crib sheets
- a MBF instead of a Boppy this time ...

His crib was delivered today.  I need to pull the infant carseat out of the basement and wash the cover.  I've been buying clothes at some awesome consignment sales lately - doing pretty well, if I do say so myself!  I found a pack of my favorite receiving blankets (that are big enough for swaddling) today at the grocery, and I may/may not have some left over from C.  I have a tub of clothes I need to sort through (again) and pull out the little stuff.  Still have my Moby.

Ugh.  I just remembered I need to go stock up on post partum goodies, too.

  • Looks good to me (besides postpartum fun things! Woohoo!) but I just had to butt in and say I cannot believe you are almost ready for your second already! I was just remembering when C's birth was announced...feels like yesterday!

  • Sounds like you have it covered!  LOTS of one-piece sleepers because they are sooo darn cute, warm, and cozy!  I'm sure you have a bunch b/c Calloway was born in the cold, too.
  • you seem like you've got the basics covered.  how about for you? lanolin for your boobs, pads, plenty of food and snacks, i also loved drinking straws for being able to drink over the baby while nursing and not risk spilling.
  • diaper cream.

lansinoh cream for your nipples and gel packs.

    nursing pads.

oxi-clean or something for soaking poop and spit-up stained clothing.

    maxi pads for you.

motrin or something for pp cramps and etc.

  • I seriously think I'm going to badger DH into ditching our plan of waiting until we move to TTC and start sooner.  I nEEEEED a baby.  I held a 2 week old for an hour last night and my uterus almost exploded!  My husb's coworker told me DH secretly wants another now soooo HA!
  • Drinking straws - brilliant.  I never would've thought about it.

I do have quite a few warm sleepers.  The only bad part is that all of his 0-3/3-6 month stuff is warm weather stuff, so I'm having to buy quite a bit of it this time around.  I don't think that January in Kentucky = polo shirts and plaid shorts.

And NURSING PADS.  How could I forget about nursing pads?!

Yes, you DO need another baby!  I met up with a sorority sister today at a consignment sale and she has a sweet little 4 week old ... Then this afternoon, a friend stopped by with his almost-5 month old.  The itty bitty baby was being worn, but I stole the 5 month old as soon as they walked in the door.  It was beyond strange to not be holding a 30 pound kid (and extremely, extremely comfortable - I wasn't getting kneed in the stomach or smacked in the chest, LOL).  Being around the little ones today made me realize how close I am to having Ari!
