I am googling it. It seems common. It is both making me feel better and worse. I will call the pedi tomorrow for sure. But just wondering if anyone out there has seen this after feeding FRESH bananas. Or anytime really.
Just a question based off your research: Are these the fiber strings that are typically on a banana? Ya know right after you peel it? I am just curious if maybe she swallowed it and they turned black?
DS has it after he eats bananas. I have only given him fresh ones. I was freaked out at first but it sort of reminds me of the black stringy things when I make banana bread so I figured that's what it is.

If you google black strings in baby poop it brings up several instances where bananas (fresh homemade bananas) are the cause. Something about the fibers inside the fruit to hold it together. Since I fork mash they might not get all ground up like jarred bananas would. Not the big strings on the peel that you are thinking of though...

GAH! You are so right. A normal, calm and rational mom would have thought of this connection. Now I want banana bread.

I know. Seriously. I am all SHE HAS WORMS!
"I've got worms...that's what we'll call it"
Haha I was contemplating making banana muffins! Oh, my cousins and I all had worms when we were little (apparently dirt was delicious-and infested) and that is NOT what they looked like.
