When did you find out you were having twins?

If you have or are having twins....when did you find out?  I just had my regular ob appointment and I am measuring 21 weeks....only supposed to be almost 16.  I have an ultrasound in the AM to see if I'm having twins.  I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and there was only 1 sac, but I suppose that could still be too early to know if it's twins or not?!!

We found out at 12 weeks when he had our first u/s.  I had no idea and it was a total shock.  No symptoms either, no m/s, nothing!  We thought it was just one baby.  I don't know how early they can tell, but for some reason I feel like at 6 weeks when you had your first u/s they should have been able to see two.  Good luck.

I had an u/s at 6wk2d and there were two sacs & 2 heartbeats.

at 20w, but that was the first u/s I had.

I found out at my 12w u/s (that was my first u/s). If you're measuring 5 weeks ahead that does sound like twins are a possibility! Keep us posted. I think at 16w I was measuring 20.

A little before 12 weeks at my 2 ob/gyn appointment.

I didn't feel any different or didn't expect it.  It was a big surprise.

I kept asking the U/S tech - there is only 2 in there right.

We found out at 18 weeks, at our first (and what thought would be our only) ultrasound.  Up to that point, we had no idea.

We saw two sacs, each with a heartbeat, at 6 weeks 0 days.

at our first u/s at 6w2d. I am being monitored weekly for now to see if all 3 stick around or not.

As a side note, it is such a foreign concept to me to be a "regular" pregnant woman who only has one or two ultrasounds the whole pregnancy! I'm probably going to have at least 4-5 in the first tri alone.

So far I am the only one who had two ultrasounds, one at 5 1/2 weeks and one at 7 1/2 weeks and only found one baby each time. I didn't find out about the twins until 12 weeks when I went to my aunt who happens to be an OB in a different state. So you really never know..

At my 12wk ultrasound. I was all by myself, DH had to work. After crying during the ultrasound, I sat in the doctors office waiting to see the doctor in complete shock. The day before, while out with DH, I had said to him "Watch, when I go for the ultrasound I'll find out were having twins." Crazy.

We saw 2 sacs at 5 weeks.

6w2d. I had an u/s in the ER because I was having pretty bad pains on my L side. Turned out to be a cyst on my ovary but I found out I was having 2 babies instead of 1!!

We had an u/s with our RE at 5w and it looked like there were two sacs but one of them looked really small compared to the other so we had another u/s the next week and sure enough two cupcakes measuring right on time. We go to see their heartbeats it was amazing.
