Our dd started climbing before she started walking so it's no surprise that she has already learned to climb out her crib. We decided to take the leap and move her to a big girl bed. She already had a double bed in her room so we took the slats out and put the boxspring/mattress directly on the floor but left the side rails and headboard/footboard. We pushed the bed up against the wall and added an extra long bed rail to the other side. This was yesterday afternoon. She really loved playing on her bed but when it came to bedtime she seemed a little confused. We took the crib out so she wouldn't want to go back and forth. It took about an hour but got her to sleep and she slept all night. Then nap today was just as difficult...took about an hour and a bit of fussing. Both times she went to sleep after I had left the room a few times and then came back and laid down with her. I don't want her to get into the habit of only falling asleep when I'm laying with her...how did everyone else handle this transition? sorry so long!!!
