What do you think of the name Jasper for a boy?  My DH has always loved this name - it is his favorite rock and he is a geology teacher. 

I'm warming up to it but I'm worried it will become too popular because of the character Jasper in the Twilight books.  WDYT?

(We have no middle name yet and our last name is Irish : Mc____ ).

For some reason, it makes me think of a fat, dorky kid.  Just my imagination, of course.  But I like that it's your husband's favorite rock.  That's a cute connection.  I'd keep it as a mn.

I really like it!  I highly doubt that the fact a character in a book shares the name will cause problems for your child.

Love it! I would use it if Dh didn't veto it. I don't see it becoming overly popular even if it is the name of a character in theTwilight series. I'd use it anyways.

I love Jasper and I think Jasper Mc-anything is a supercool sounding name.

I think it's a nice name and my husband loves it, but we won't use it because we live in TX and I don't want my child to in any way be associated with that town. However this isn't really a problem if you don't live here.?
