BASTIDS!! No vacation for me :-( -I just need to whine/vent

I just went to look to see when we could do our long weekend and FAIL!! We can't!!! I'm really really bummed. We're limited on the weeks since Dh's boss changed the schedule from 24's to 3 12's now DH has to work 2-3 Sunday's a month to make up the other 12hours. There's only 7 of us on the unit when we're a full staff. And right now our Nurse retired in July so we're down to 6 with me covering all of her old groups, then the art therapist is going away the last 2 weeks of October, then one of the social workers is gone the first 2 weeks of November, we can't take off the last week in Nov. (which is our anniversary) because we do a Thanksgiving thing for our clients and we do all the cooking so my boss won't let anyone off then between the other social worker and my boss they have the other two possible weeks in December. Frickin A! This year is totally turning out to be a Murphy's Law year!! UGH....I can't take anymore depressing news or disappointments. All the bad stuff started in January with a few deaths and in the family and now it's just plummeting quickly!!
