Sleep training. You may be against it, but once we hit 2+ hours of us trying to soothe ds to sleep and him crying much of the time (in our arms) we did Ferber. We figured that he was crying for the majority of 2 hours IN our arms...he was already doing the crying and we weren't helping him out. He cried 6 minutes and then fell asleep. He was ready to go down without us, but we didn't know it. I think we were actually preventing him from falling asleep b/c we kept holding him (and we'd set him down and he'd wake up and panic!!). May not help you, but it did us!

I completely agree. We did the sleep training staring this weekend. He cried the first night and for the past three nights he hasn't made a sound. For the past few weeks it has taken almost 2 hours a night to get him to sleep and now he goes right to sleep. He was also waking up in the middle of the night needing to be soothed back to sleep and he doesn't do that anymore. Sometimes I hear him wake up, but he goes back to sleep on his own without crying. I wasn't sure about sleep training, but it has been a miracle the past three nights. Not sure if this will keep up, but for now I am such a happy mommy!
