Infant positioner?

My mom thinks my almost-4 week old should have an infant positioner to help her sleep in her PNP/crib.  For some naps, she will fall asleep held but will wake up if she's put down (either right away or about 10 minutes later).  Sometimes she's OK though.  My mom thinks the positioner will help her feel "cuddled" in bed since it will be slight pressure on her sides.

Also, I'm thinking of putting on in the pram to help her feel secure on our very bumpy sidewalks.

Thoughts?

Re: Infant positioner?

  • We used a sleep positioner for awhile; DS liked it, but I think swaddling helped him more.  Now we swaddle and don't use the positioner, and he's fine.

  • Have you tried swaddling?

It's worth a shot...and if that doesn't work then you could always try the positioner.

  • This.   We stopped using the sleep positioner last week and DD sleeps without any problem.

Edit: Sorry-- the quote didn't work.  I was agreeing with the PP who used a sleep positioner for awhie...

  • my baby did the same thing and we later came to the conclusion through many other observations and tests that he had reflux (GERD) so he was uncomfortable sleeping flat. ?he slept fine in his swing and car seat. ?he now sleeps in his crib in an elevated positioner.
