Everyone is telling me to expect 12 diapers a day for a newborn. Was that your experience? I'm CDing and I want to be realistic about the size of my NB diaper stash.
I am EBF and I would say 10-12, sometimes more. It takes a little while to get the hang of when to change them. Like sometimes we would change her, she would eat and poop again during the feeding. So we would change her again, and then ten minutes later she'd poop again....it was a vicious cycle for a few weeks.
We went through way more than 12 in the beginning, but that's because DS would cry the second his diaper got the slightest bit wet. Sometimes I would change it 3-4 times in an hour.
Re: # diapers per day for the first 6 weeks?

10-12 for the first 8 weeks or so
I believe with cloth diapering you will have to change more frequently as they aren't as absorbent as disposables. I could be wrong.
I did go through about 10 disposable diapers in the beginning. Then somewhere around 4-5 weeks I'd say I went down to 8 now it's about 6 diapers.
