I am sooo tired of hearing a couple things, that it's completely almost driving me crazy.. (and it's not on the bump, its IRL)
1. "I always wanted twins". This I've heard from friends at work, random people in the doctor's office, etc etc. Yes, I love both my boys to no end, I don't know what I would do if they weren't in my life, but I've just been on my own this week with them, DH has gone back to work, DD is in school, and mom went back home (after being with us for a week). I remember what it was like 13 years ago when my DD was a baby, and how hard it was just to have her and get her on a schedule. It's twice as hard to do with twins.
2. My future SIL informed me that she's SOOOO going to take Clomid so that she can almost be "guaranteed" a girl when she is ready to have kids! I think this irks me on a few levels... first, she knows that I really wanted at least 1 girl this pregnancy, because I was having my tubes tied, and we weren't going to have more kids. Well I've got 2 beautiful boys I wouldn't trade the world for, and couldn't be happier. And since our sons are the first grandkids for my ILs, she wants to have the first (and probably only) granddaughter. I don't know why it bugs me so much.
Ok.....Hormonal vent over! ![]()
Re: Soooo tired of hearing.....
OMG I hate that crap too "I want twins" .... I just give them a look and say well be me for a day and then we'll see!
and I to HATE my SIL ..... she's a Royal Skunt-Muffin!
1. Get used to it. You will get a LOT of comments, unsolicited advice (often from people who have never had the joy of having multiples), and dumb questions. Learn to smile, nod, and keep walking. Don't make eye contact with strangers unless you want to be stopped with a million questions and comments. It sucks, but it's part of having twins. And some people really DO want twins. You know how hard it is and what you had to go through, but all they see is two cute smiling babies. Who wouldn't want that?
2. Does she know Clomid has nothing to do with what sex your baby turns out to be? And that it can cause ovarian cysts, thinning of the uterine lining, OHSS, etc? Taking it "just because" is dumb, even dumber if your reason is to have a certain sex baby. Just smile and laugh at her and know that she's in for a rude awakening.
She needs to do new research. And please tell me she isn't wanting to take clomid just because she heard it'll give her a girl.
Does she have genuine IF issues?
P.s. I took clomid and you see the result below. Definitely not a girl.
