an e-mail to my grandmother about a onsie that is not my style ( pooping). she keeps asking me if i like it, which i dont. but i'm not sure how to kindly word that so she doesn't buy any more.
i would love to say that, b/c this is not the first time... she is a horrible gifter. But it would be ugly, she would call my mom and taddle on me. Ugh I don't even want to think about that.
You can always say that it was funny and then proceed to tell her how you have a hard time with onesies because....
For example, we actually don't like onesies very much because they require pants and taking off 2 layers to change a diaper is irritating. We prefer rompers and I like things with collars.
So you could say that it's funny and he wore it once but you decided you prefer rompers because they're easier for diaper changes. Then say you LOVE the color [fill in the blank] on DS. Send the letter with a picture of DS in something like that and how CUTE he is in it.
Chances are she won't be able to find a romper with a collar in the color green with something about poop on it.
Be honest. I'm not sure what you mean by pooping. You don't like onesies at all because of changing or because it says something funny about pooping?
If it's about the saying then I would say something. If it's because of how you change LO, then I would wear it for grandma just to please her but mention in passing that it's not the easiest choice of clothes for you when you go to change LO. I wouldn't use that as an excuse, but it will come back to haunt you with pictures, etc.
Either way, be honest. Fibbing will get you no where in life. Be nice about it though, it was a gift.
thanks. Great Idea. What she really wants is a pic of him in it... which I don't want to do b/c she will make 1000 copies and hand them out to everyone. Also she bought 12 mo. size and he is 4.
Here is the a copy of the e-mail:
Lesson #1 about babies: get a larger size! B abies grow really fast! And he's going to be a big boy like his Daddy. Remember to get me a photo of him in it -- you could even do it now and tuck the "tail" behind him. Did you think it was cute? I thought it was hysterical. Love, Grandma and Great-Grandma
I'm sorry I wasn't clear, its b/c there is a saying about pooping... it says Fully Loaded then has a progress bar below that's 75% complete. It's just not my style.
Re: help w/ wording
Dear Grams, stop buying me ugly sh!t. TIA!
