what is everyone doing about dressing your little one for winter?? Are you planning on just using a "bundle me" warm liner in carseat? buying a winter/snow jacket? buying a snowsuit??? If you are planning on buying a snowsuit will you buy a one piece or two piece? ...and advantages/disadvantages to either??.....any input/thoughts would be appreciated!!
Re: question about winter jacket/snowsuit etc??
After talking to friends who have had children the same age as DS will be this winter, I'm going to be having him in a convertible carseat and a 2 piece snowsuit. He'll wear only the jacket (plus hat and mitts) and boots (if I can find them) going in and out of the house and to places. We'll have the snowsuit incase we want to take him for walks, out to play etc.
You have to be careful because you can't properly use carseats of any kind when they have a puffy snowsuit on.
In your case (since you will have a newborn during the winter) I would just get a Bundle Me for the carrier, put the baby in long sleeves with a short sleeve onesie underneath and put socks on LO's feet. You don't want to overheat them (you should pre-heat the car before loading LO), and that should be perfect.
My son will be too big for the carrier when winter comes (he's a long boy, born at 23 inches) ...he's only got a few more inches left to go.
