Starting Tuesday I'll be enrolled in the EAGeR trial, studying the effects of aspirin on gestation and reproduction.
I'll either be in the study group (baby aspirin and folic acid) or in the placebo group (placebo pill and folic acid) and I won't know which one I'm in. They'll follow me for 6 months. If I get pregnant, they'll follow me through my 36th week of pregnancy and I'll get betas and an early u/s (6.5 weeks). I get to see my own doc through all of it. Also, I monitor every morning with a CBE and they'll run a bunch of tests at CD2 and ovulation. If I get pregnant and miscarry, they'll karotype the fetus to give us an idea of the cause.
Anyhow, I'm kind of excited about the whole thing. It should be interesting. And help make me feel like somehow 2 losses were worth something - that they helped me participate in one of the biggest studies to prove the benefits of aspirin (which REs and OBs routinely recommend without the big study to back it up, because they *know* it works, they just haven't proved it, from what I've heard).
So that, my friends, is my big CD1 Hurrah. Plus, for the first time in 7 years, I won't be charting. So there, FF. Rot on the vine, friend.
Re: But with the bad news, there's good:
I have been curious about this. My RE had me on baby aspirin since last November and since then no BFP. I went off the aspirin last cycle to see what happens.
You'll have to keep me updated.
