My daughter is a healthy 6lbs but it means shes too big for her preemie clothes and too small for her newborn clothes, especially in the length since she only 18 inches.
Anyone have any suggestions for that in between stage for 6 and 7lbs?
the gerber clothes go up to 8lbs and I know that gymboree's smallest size goes up to 7. My daughter fit in the carter preemie stuff until she was about 6.5lbs.

Wait about 0.2 seconds and she'll fit in her Newborn clothes. (I'm not kidding!) In the mean time squeeze her into preemie clothes or I guess she can wear a little bit loos newborn clothes. This happens to use at every size change (0-3 to 3-6 to 6-9 etc..)
I have the same problem right now, but find gerbers runs small so they fit and childrens place has a "up to 7lbs" that seem to fit. My biggest problem is all of the newborn stuff seems so wide!
Cut the feet off the premie clothes. I did that with Harmon (he was IUGR) when he got too long. Also he wore NB stuff but I layered underneath to compensate the bigness.

I know it's already been said, but the gerber onesies are definitely the way to go. They run very small. My DS is wearing 3-6 months in gerber while he wears newborn or 0-3 in all other brands.
DS had a preemie outfit from www.kushies.com and it lasted him until at least 7lbs. maybe even 8lbs. The tag said it was for babies of 4lbs., but it was wrong and DS is a relatively tall kid. They also have a 1 month size.
i've found that the carter's brand runs more true to sizes... she outgrew their preemie stuff weeks ago, and the newborn has been just a little big on her. (at 5lbs 8oz)
thanks for all the advice guys... i really expected our little bird to be littler for longer!

A little expensive, but the kimonos are worth every penny.

I went to the store and got some Gerber onesies so lets hope they work!
