is the reflux?

DD hasn't spit up in ages, but lately after having a bottle or nursing she seems to be 'vurping'. You know, a burp that brings up some stuff.  She doesn't seem to be affected by it, but I know it can be bad for the pipes if left untreated. Also, she's 10 months old and still wakes a lot at night. She sleeps so much better in the swing than in her crib.  yes, yes, I'll ask the pediatrician, but I'm looking for some experience here.  TIA.

Re: is the reflux?

  • Sounds like it could be. ?Try inclining her mattress and see if that helps.?

My dd spits up ALL day long. ?She doesn't appear to be in pain from it, but I can hear her reluxing. ?I also STILL hold M up for about 15 minutes after each bottle. ??

  • thanks Brew.  She is all over the place in her crib. If I incline her mattress she might just end up at the bottom of it:) (kidding, of course).  When I hear her refluxing (?) she is upright.  I think that's why I noticed it - because she was in my arms.  I haven't noticed it at night.  I also think her waking at night might be my fault. It's so easy to nurse her back to sleep.  I must start sending DH in there to just rock her...ds was not like this. He was a champion sleeper from the get go!

  • I kwym. ?Noah sttn so early. ?Maren only wakes usually once to eat, so I shouldn't complain. ?Dang though, I am ready to sttn myself again. ?

As long as it is bothering her, I wouldn't worry. ?In fact, at my dd's 4 mo appt (last Tuesday) we decided to take her off her meds. ?I didn't really notice an improvement. ?Now I just have to wait for her to grow out of it. ?Hopefully soon/ ??
