Breastfeeding

Q. from 3rd Tri

I got a couple weeks to go, and as I look at my breast pump I honestly don't know how to use it.  I'm sure the hospital will help, but I wanted to make sure I got everything I need.  I want to store milk and have my DH bottle feed BM so he'll have that moment with the LO too.  And also when I return to work.  Should I get different types of bottles?  And which ones do you recommend?  This is the one I got: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2901999

Re: Q. from 3rd Tri

  • I have the same one. I would recommend using the BM storage bags as they lie mostly flat and save room in your freezer/frig instead of using bottles to store the milk. Get a few different types of bottles as baby's often have a preference but you won't know which one LO will take until after.

  • Thank u very much. I'm going to look that up right now.
  • Same as pp--also, I use and DD likes the Adiri bottle.  No nipple confusion to date.  Also, Medela makes bags you can put in the microwave to sanitize your breast pump parts.  SO much easier than a countertop sterilizer.  Each bag gets 20 uses.
  • You can use sterilizer bags a lot more than 20 times !
