NBR: Girls wanna help me pick a color for my kitchen now?

I am on a roll with painting now and want to repaint my kitchen.  It is currently a khaki color..  It just blends in too much with the hallway and dining room..

I am even thinking of restaining the cabinets maybe something darker?  I have no idea where to begin.  My entire house (except the kids rooms) are painted in various shades of neutral tan.  Im sick of the blah colors.. I want something more inviting.  Seeing how well my bathroom turned out inspired me to paint my kitchen now...

You girls were so great about giving ideas for my bathroom that I thought I would ask again.      Thanks girls!!!!!!!!

I have my kitchen painted a nice soft yellow- I think it was called butter. It looks like something like that would be pretty with your current cabinet color. I love how the yellow us still neutral, but brightens up the room. Good luck! I love projects!

I second yellow.  I like bright colors for kitchens.   What color are your appliances/towels?

I really like the contrast of oak /yellow with dark grey.  but it might be too "modern". 

Maybe a green?  I could just picture green with the black appliance or even red.

I'd paint it a wine red...but red is apparently my favorite color.

Sorry to post and run like that..  I had to get my DD's some lunch..   

My BFF suggested a cranberry or wine.  And you all are suggesting stuff along the same lines.  I will have to get some paint samples this weekend sometime..  Thanks girls!

IMO, I would paint the cabinets a white or lighter colour, maybe even a whitewash, and then do the cabinets at beachy blue colour.  I have black appliances too, and I find really dark cabinets and black appliances just makes it too dark for my tastes.
