Venting here: FSIL changed wedding date

Usually not a huge deal, but they've had it planned for months on this specific date, it is in Florida, so everyone in my extended family has planned vacations around it. And because she didn't think to go ahead and reserve the reception hall, it got booked and they moved the date. She had already sent out save the dates, people had made plans...I know it's their wedding, but I'm still pretty annoyed about it. I'll get over it, but she probably should have gone ahead and reserved things before telling everyone a date for what will pretty much be a destination wedding.

I'd be pretty pissed too. I also had a DW in FL, and when my reception hall backed out on me 2 months out, I booked somewhere else. I had people coming from across the country for this...there was no way I was going to switch the date on them!

I think you have reason to be annoyed.  Who sends out save the dates before confirming the reception?!

Do you have plane tickets already?  That is ridiculous.  You have 3 kids and are planning to go to FL for a wedding - it takes some planning!  I really don't know where you live but I assume it isn't FL!

She needs to keep the same wedding date and just find another ceremony/reception location.  Is she planning to pay people back if they loose $$ because of change of plans?

Ha! Very unlikely. I don't know how many times in the 3 years she's lived in our state that I've driven her to work because she didn't have a car and have never been offered a cent for gas money. I like her a lot, but she's not the considerate type.
