Like I said in my post below we are leaving for Disney on Wednesday, going to be there for 10 days. This vacation has been planned for almost a year. We had not planned on actually starting to try until after we got back. So my semi selfish question I know is that do you think I will still be able to go on the rides?? I mean obviously Small World or Dumbo will be fine, I am talking about Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror type rides. Since it is so extremely early in my pg do you think it would be ok?? Or under no circumstances should I do any of those rides?? Like I said I know this is selfish of me to think of this, but I just want some opinions of you other ladies and what you think.

Re: So rides at Disney
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
I am no expert, so hopefully no flames for this opinion, but I think that if you feel comfortable doing those rides, I think it would be ok.
I could be wrong, but I thought the risk in those rides is that the abrupt starting/stopping, etc. could be risky in terms of seperation of the placenta. Which, being so early, I can't imagine would be an issue yet.
Maybe just call your OB's office if you are concerned.
Seriously? I mean, do what you want, I guess.
I can say from experience being at Disney while pg that there are plenty of rides that are safe while you're pg. And all of the rides that your DS can go on with you will be safe for you to ride. I would think the Disney trip was about him anyway, so maybe just enjoy riding rides that you can do. If it was me, I wouldn't take the risk with something as silly as an amusement park ride. That's just me though...
You should just call your OB office and see what they say. I personally would not want to take the risk of anything happening so I would stick to the simple rides.
I wouldn't risk it. Most of those rides probably have warnings about not going on them if you're pregnant.

I wouldn't risk it and as PP said the rides DC can go on are going to be pregnant friendly so I would just focus on making the trip all about him. We just got back from Disney a couple weeks ago and I was 22 weeks. I rode all the rides DD could ride and we had a blast.
How would you feel if you rode those rides and then you ended up having a miscarriage. While the two things may be completely unrelated, I would not be able to separate the two and would always wonder if I caused the miscarriage by riding the rides. I would never be able to forgive myself. But that's just me.

Ok, going against the grain here...
I would do those. Honestly it wouldn't occur to me not to! But I never really limited my activites until later in my pregnancy.
Me too.
I was pregnant with Cam when I went on ALL the rides. I didn't know I was pregnant at the time --- so that made my decision easier. I didn't have to make one!
But I guess what I'm saying is, I was 4.5 weeks along and didn't know it and went on every ride.
I went at 17 wks and rode:
Dumbo, Aladin's carpet, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh (get the fast pass), Mad tea ups (Alice in wonderland), Peter Pan's flight (fast pass also) and that's all I can think of right now (headache)
I was directed not to ride...the race cars which my son so wanted to ride but was too short any way
I did the Safari but it DOES have a warning not to for pregnant women (oops : )
Here is some of the research I did before going (on riding while pregnant), I just C & Ped the website and put them in a word doc
Okay pregnant lady!
I've been to WDW bunches of times, and twice when I was pregnant, one at 5 months, the other at 7 months. I will be going again at 7 months in January.
Here's the deal...do what ya can!
Clinically (I'm a nurse) truly dangerous are:
Magic Kingdom - Space Mountain
(Buzz Lightyear is FINE--Heck...Small World is rougher than this one!)
You may wanna steer clear of Alien Encounter...there are high magnetic fields used in one of the rooms and there is some concern about high magnetic forces on pregnancy.
Thunder Mountain (a little rough side-to-side)
Splash Mtn is a judgement call...if you are normally fine with it and you aren't considered high risk (and you don't have Blood Pressure problems)...Go For it!
MGM - DO NOT DO Tower of Terror....Because of the repeated up and down nature of the ride, it is ideal for placental separation.
Obviously no Rockin' Roller Coaster
Catastrophe Canyon is fine
The seat belt might cause problems on Star Tours.
EPCOT - Everything should be fine, including Test Track.
(Body Wars is the same thing as Star Tours)
Animal Kingdom - Kali River Rapids is fine...!
Skip Dinosaur 'cuz of the type of action and where the seat belt sits.
I've never had a problem with the Safari....just hold on and be willing to rock with the bumps.
SUPER SECRET PREGNANT WDW TIPS?
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority (WEDway) is the place to be while the other ones are doing Space Mtn and Alien.
- While your other family members are on Tower of Terror, take their passes and get them fast passes for Rockin' Roller Coaster. Then meet them at the end of TOT where you can see your pics. (grab a snack on the way in past the store) It is REALLY cool in temperature and although the benches are stone (or FRP), you can put your feet up on them and stretch out.
- They may get to ride all the cool rides, but YOU get first dibs on highest total of Mickey Premium Bars consumed in one day. graemlins/clappy.gif
This one is a bit more conservative:
. Avoid attractions with health restrictions. These restrictions are always posted at the attraction itself, or you can check the PassPorter Walt Disney World guidebook to find out before you go. In general, you want to avoid rides that are bumpy, cause dizziness, or accelerate too quickly. Epcot is the most pregnant-friendly park -- only two attractions, Test Track and Body Wars, are off-limits. At Magic Kingdom, just say no to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Dumbo (if you get nauseous easily), Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Mad Tea Party, The Barnstormer, Astro Orbiter, Space Mountain, and the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. At Disney-MGM Studios, stay off Star Tours, Rock n' Roller Coaster, and the Tower of Terror. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, avoid Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur. Kilimanjaro Safaris carries a health restriction, but many pregnant women (including Jennifer's sister) feel okay about it. If you decide to go on the Kilimanjaro Safaris, ask the cast member if you can ride in the wheelchair-accessible vehicle -- it isn't as bumpy as the others. If you're not certain if a particular ride is for you, have your significant other try it out first and then report back. If you opt out of a ride, you can either shop in a nearby gift shop (there's always one around) or stay in the queue with your party until boarding and then ask for the "chicken exit."
Keep hydrated and have fun. I almost passed out the first 10 mins outside and I am used to the TX heat...luckily I cooled off and was able to have a blast the rest of the time with no issues.
