15 month old visiting family in the hospital?

hi...would u take your 15 month old to the hospital to visit your families baby? Someone in my family is having a baby in the next 2 weeks...I do not wat to take my daughter to the hospital due to germs and stuff...But I probaby wont have anyone to watch her...So, I might have to bring her...The hospital allows it,,,

The family member who is having the baby wants my daughter and i to visit...what are your thoughts and 15 month olds at the hospital?

check with the hospital. one that I delivered at (dd was born there) did not allow children under a certain age unless they were siblings of the newborn.

most hospitals around here have a 12 YEAR old age limit unless it's the sibling of the new baby -so chances are you can't bring the baby...

i would personally not want to bring my 15m/o to visit anyone at the hospital- unless it was someoen who was about to die...... In a few days you can visit them in their home - why risk the germs of the hospital to see them a few days earlier with baby?

I wouldn't, even if they do allow it.

I am not a germophobe, but brand-newborns are a different story.

Personally, no I would not.  Not just because of the nastiness that breeds in the hospital (MRSA, etc.), but for the sake of the other patients' peace and quiet.  I know my son would never have been quiet and calm in a hospital setting like he should be.

I probably wouldn't.  Hospital stays aren't that long typically, so unless it was really important to the person, I would just visit when they were ready at home.  (Also-in the interest of full disclosure-I hated having visitors at the hospital.  So, maybe that changes my view.)

Around here kids have to be 5 or older to visit unless they are a sibling or grandchild (someone related and very close).
