Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How much Formula/BreastMilke does your LO get daily?

At DS 6 month appointment my pedi said DS should be eating between 35-42 oz of formula a day. He was at that time on the high end of 35 a day most days in the high 20's plus a dinner. We would offer more but he just didnt want it.

Well she said she could start giving him breakfast, lunch and dinner now on top of the formula. So far today he has eaten breakfast and lunch plus 24oz. He will get one more bottle tonight before he goes to be and he avgs about 3-4oz from that bottle.

So now I am feeling like to get his formula intake up I need to cut out lunch.

Thoughts?

Thank you?

  • Our pedi said DS should take 20-32 oz a day at 6 months.  DS eats about 30oz a day and has dinner only right now.

  • DD eats @ 20-24 oz breastmilk/day, but BM changes over time & becomes fattier as the baby ages so they typically eat less than FF. Anyways, my pedi didn't suggest 3 meals/day until 9 months; and we have yet to give her 3 full meals per day. IMO, BM or formula are primary & food is secondary until the age of 1 y.o.
  • My DD has between 28 and 36 oz of formula a day and 3 meals - one breakfast baby food, veggies with either egg yolk or meat that I make her for lunch and a fruit for dinner.
  • Thank you, I am starting to fill a little better about his formula intake. I know formula at this age should be the number one thing which is why I was trying to find a way to balance it with food or just cute back on the food.?
