I have several including the nursing mothers' companion. I don't really like any of them that much honestly, but that one is the most modern of the ones I have.
I'd just try to get one with a recent revision date. IMO, the Womanly Art of BF'ing is kind of dated.
I liked the Everything about Breastfeeding book. It had a lot of information and tricks and was very honest about some things that most books won't tell you!

So that's what they're for....I still reference it even though I'm 6 months in. It's helpful to read some parts again once you know what you're doing.
