Clearly we need to lay of the Loony Tunes!

Okay my question is for mom's with girls! We are at the "to cut her bangs or not to cut" nothing keeps them back but a big ole bow smack dab at the top of her head or a headband. I need something that will last through a school day to keep her hair out of her face! Suggestions?

Re: 2 things! PIP!

  • No cut!  Let them grow out.

And guns, who cares, my kids have them.

  • If you grow out the bangs, how about parting her hair on one side and using a clip or small bow to keep the hair out of her face.

BTW, the pic of A with the dog is a hoot!

  • Seriously ADORABLE pics!

As you can tell my Cam's pigtails pic, she is at the same point.  I normally do cut bangs -- since she refuses to keep ANYTHING in her hair.  Headbands have been my most successful however those don't even stay in that long.  If she would keep them in, I would let her bangs grow.  But since she doesn't, I need to bring her for a trim.  That and she has PLENTY of years to have one length hair.  Bangs on toddler girls are cute, IMO.

  • Will she let you do a little side braid?

M's hair is so fine but this actually stays in all day.

  • ditto the side braid!
  • Hilarious!

I let DD's grow out and am so glad I did.  We'd get them trimmed (I am not one to trim hair - eek) and she'd need it again two weeks later.  LOVE having them grown out, don't miss them at all.

  • I wouldn't cut them unless they would fall nice and straight.

On the way to work yesterday DD was eating her toast and at one point it was the shape of a gun and she was shooting everything. *Yes, she knows not to touch real guns*

  • We use bobby pins a lot. They keep the hair back but they aren't visiable so she doesn't want to rip them out.

While I have you, do you sell the hairbands like the one you had in Emilia's hair in your siggy. (might be your old siggy now, as I can't see your siggy while I type this.)

  • The braid is a good idea. I have the same problem with DD. Sometimes I can talk her into a partial pony or full pony or pig tails. They never last the whole day though. I don't think she likes the feeling of having her hair pulled tight. I haven't cut bangs and would prefer not to - too much upkeep.

  • The best thing I've found are those old school plastic barrettes that come in all different colors.  I always buy them at Target.  They hold tight and are small enough that you can put them close to the front of their head without looking too dumb.  Oh and hairspray too!

  • Just say no to bangs.

    NO BANGS.

    NOOOOOOOOOO BANGS.

I have no love for bangs.

Bows, love them.  Keep doing what you're doing.   I had bangs until middle school and have sworn that my daughter will not have bangs.
