2nd Trimester

Can't. Effing. Sleep. (VENT)

Oh sigh... this is getting old.. I am tired all day, and can't seem to STAY asleep at night for more than an hour at a time.. I thought the 2nd tri was supposed to be the "good" one??!! grr..

Re: Can't. Effing. Sleep. (VENT)

  • i'm sorry....my sleeping isn't that bad, but it isn't good either....it's so frustrating...
  • I'm in the same boat.  I was up at 4am today.  I think that the 2nd tri being good is a myth spread by people who want to over-populate the world.

  • The only "good" thing about 2nd tri is that "supposedly" m/s stops...lol, I know too many ladies on here have already disproved that one...I got about 2wks of repreive between m/s and insomnia!!  Yay for a 2wk 2nd tri!!!  Maybe we need to move to 3rd tri boards at the beginning of insomnia? lol
  • I am pregnant with my second child, although my first just started kindergarten so its been a while since I've been preggo!  From what I remember, my first tri was awful with the "morning" sickness and all.  I was nauseated 24/7, but once I started my second tri, I didn't have another problem.  I breezed through the rest of the pregnancy only having to prop my feet up every night because of the cankles.  This time though, I just started my second tri and I want to scream.  Every smell makes me gag, I have headaches constantly, and although I'm extremely tired in the evening, I will sleep about and hour and toss and turn an hour, then sleep and hour...wel you get the point.  I'm hoping that as I get further into the 2nd tri I will start feeling better.  Sorry, just wanted to vent a little!

  • I'm convinced my body is waking me every 2-3 hours to prepare for the blessed arrival.  Ha.

  • Nope. Sorry hon. There really is no "good" trimester when you're pg. You've been hit by the dreaded insomnia huh? Even the slightest noise wakes me up. It's just your body getting ready to be woken up around the clock in a few months. If it gets too bad talk to your dr. I know that in my 2nd tri with DD I hadn't been sleeping and then when the 3rd tri hit and I was huge and uncomfortable and couldn't sleep still the dr prescribed me some light sleeping pills. You may even be able to take Tylenol PM. But check with the dr first. It may not knock you out but it should take the edge off and help you stay asleep. Taking care of yourself is your first priority right now...so talk to your dr.?
  • I hear you! Between having to pee and sleep on my side it has been a challenge.
