Let's talk strollers!

I've been dying for an "emmaljunga"- they are handmade in Sweden www.emmaljunga.se, but aren't sold in the US so I'm in the air regarding the one's available and I need one asap... Some feedback please ladies! I want something different, elegant but useful.

  • I honestly don't see what makes this stroller so different or so much better than the millions of strollers that DH and I tested out for our LO...check this out though, they look mighty similar and are readily available all over the US:

  • We're getting the UppaBaby Vista.  I'm not sure why the Swedish stroller is better?  Am I missing something?

We're getting the UppaBaby Vista too, and I love it!! We looked at the Bugaboo too, but I really do prefer this one. It has everything we're looking for!

We're just waiting to buy it until we hear what the 2010 version will be like. If they fix the seat so that it can sit fully upright, we might hold off and get the 2010. Otherwise, we'll get the 2009 on close-out deals toward the end of the year!

  • Wow that is a really cool stroller...I hate to admit this but I am a stroller snob. ?I got a Bugaboo Chamelon maybe you want to look into them if you can't get this stroller. ?I also got a Maclaren stroller as my small stroller!
  • When we were looking for stroller we went to so many baby stores anywhere from babies r us to the boutique baby stores. We don't want to spend to much money but we want a good quality stroller. After talking to some of my friends and reading some reviews onlline, we ended up getting peg-perego pliko 3. I love the red and white color (corallo), not too boyish or girlish.
  • I had never seen those before, the car seat is especially cute. I also like the creme colored things. I got the Uppa Baby as well, I love it. :)?
  • My husband actually said it was UppaBaby or nothing.  He's tall and it was the first stroller he pushed where he wasn't kicking it.  I'll have to look into the 2010 thing...   I didn't realize there were changes coming to it.

Yep, the new one should be in stores November or early December. After this trade show in September we should be able to find out more info! Not sure how extensive the changes will be, probably just tweaks. It's already pretty perfect!

  • European strollers have been doing things like the bassinet feature, real rubber air filled tires, etc for years, and they have only gained popularity in the last 5-10 yrs in the US.  Plus, Europe has even stricter standards for safety and quality than we do.

I almost ordered an iCandy apple- but decided not to.  Almost imported a Stroll-Air, too.  And another brand I forget.

If you really like it- and it has something about it that you feel you cannot get in another stroller- go ahead and buy it.  Only you can be the judge of why you would by an expensive stroller.   We get a fair amount of slack- mostly from friends and coworkers- about the stroller we purchased.  I say to them, sorry- we have gone the Graco route- don't like plastic wheels and frames, and the majority of umbrella type strollers have inaccessible baskets and handles not tall enough for hubby.  I will however get a Maclaren next summer- I really like those, too.  We bought a Valco Trimode with the bassinet.  We liked the vista too- but DD was already too tall for it before she outweighed it- the Valco fit her better.  To keep in mind- my DD is not at the top of her growth charts.
