I've been dying for an "emmaljunga"- they are handmade in Sweden www.emmaljunga.se, but aren't sold in the US so I'm in the air regarding the one's available and I need one asap... Some feedback please ladies! I want something different, elegant but useful.
Re: Let's talk strollers!
I honestly don't see what makes this stroller so different or so much better than the millions of strollers that DH and I tested out for our LO...check this out though, they look mighty similar and are readily available all over the US:

We're getting the UppaBaby Vista too, and I love it!! We looked at the Bugaboo too, but I really do prefer this one. It has everything we're looking for!
We're just waiting to buy it until we hear what the 2010 version will be like. If they fix the seat so that it can sit fully upright, we might hold off and get the 2010. Otherwise, we'll get the 2009 on close-out deals toward the end of the year!
Yep, the new one should be in stores November or early December. After this trade show in September we should be able to find out more info! Not sure how extensive the changes will be, probably just tweaks. It's already pretty perfect!
European strollers have been doing things like the bassinet feature, real rubber air filled tires, etc for years, and they have only gained popularity in the last 5-10 yrs in the US. Plus, Europe has even stricter standards for safety and quality than we do.
I almost ordered an iCandy apple- but decided not to. Almost imported a Stroll-Air, too. And another brand I forget.
If you really like it- and it has something about it that you feel you cannot get in another stroller- go ahead and buy it. Only you can be the judge of why you would by an expensive stroller. We get a fair amount of slack- mostly from friends and coworkers- about the stroller we purchased. I say to them, sorry- we have gone the Graco route- don't like plastic wheels and frames, and the majority of umbrella type strollers have inaccessible baskets and handles not tall enough for hubby. I will however get a Maclaren next summer- I really like those, too. We bought a Valco Trimode with the bassinet. We liked the vista too- but DD was already too tall for it before she outweighed it- the Valco fit her better. To keep in mind- my DD is not at the top of her growth charts.
