bunkbeds and what age?

Debatting on whether to get our boys bunkbeds.  What age?

My kids were 51/2 and 31/2 yr old.  The baby was coming and the bigger two had a share a room.  Obviously, the 3 yr old was on the bottom bunk.

Mine our almost 2 and 4.  Baby will be here in March!

I'm thinking of getting them for the girls.  DD#1 is dying to sleep on the top.  If we do that, we'll have a 3.5 yo on top.  We might just use the bottom bunk and have DD#2 in a toddler bed for a year or two if we don't think DD#1 is ready.  We're looking at the ones with stairs to the top bunk with rails all the way around.  We'll see how it goes, though.  We'll be moving the girls into something after Thanksgiving this year to get them settled before the new baby gets here.
