Re: UBMyBaby psssssttt
Hey!!
Thanks for the info! Definitely keep me posted. Our prosthetist has one on loan right now and fit it on two of the older patients (in their 20s) and one 14 year old. They were amazed at the difference I hear. So I think they are going to try to submit one to insurance and see what happens.
I think that's amazing. I wish they made them smaller, but I guess it's because there are so many parts and motors with the individual fingers. It makes me so excited though to think this is the direction we could move at some point.
I'll take any info you've got! How cool! Thanks!
So far I don't know much, I know they're around 30k though, our patient is 17 & was just amputated a few weeks ago. They aren't good for sports or anything, aren't waterproof yet, etc so one would have to have 2 arms (which, while cool, holy $). There is also a cover for these that looks very real, not sure what materials/durability on the cover (or how difficult it would make it to do any adjusting/repairs to the electronics of it).
I'll keep you posted :-) I'm psyched LOL
I thought I heard the gloves were a thousand a piece! But I could be wrong on that. That will be so cool to see how the patient adapts.
I know they put on on a 23 year old woman who has worn a myo her whole life. With the myo, she couldn't open her car windows because she had to pull up on the little button. She was so excited to be able to do that easily with the iLimb. I am in touch with her and hope to talk to her soon about her experience.
So cool. Definitely keep me posted!
