I hate that my mom is so critical of my making baby food

You want my MIL to talk to her?  MIL is proud of me for making baby food (and for cloth diapering, for that matter).

I don't understand people who are critical of that either. My MIL has made comments about it being "weird" that we skipped cereal and started with Avacado... I'm like, I think it's weird that you are obsessed with Golden Retrievers but whatever.

Yeah, I'm amazed at some of the negative feedback I get. I was at a pool party and this older woman was asking me all these questions. She asked what I feed him and I told her I make most of my baby food. She told me how she never had the time for that and how it's not important and a complete waste of time when you can just "open a jar..." I said "oh, it's really easy, it takes no time at all..." She said "oh, but I was an active mom...." LOL. I still don't know what that means but she got totally defensive for no reason! Anyway glad I vented that.

yes please.  i dont get it.  how is it different than making food for the rest of the family.  she never let us eat anything processed, so i thought this was one she would understand.

all the teachers in daycare ask me questions about it.  I guess it's not that common.  There is one other mom who makes her DD's food in my DD's room at the moment.

oh, and the busy mom thing does not work with me.  I work over 55 hrs a week plus 2 hours commuting
