My unpopular hollywood opinion

One thing I can't get into is this whole vampire saga that is going on. There are vampires in books and movies and tv...and I'm just not interested. The last time I was into a vampire was when Kiefer Sutherland was a lost boy. Plus, I don't get the fascination with Robert Pattinson. I think I must be the only woman out there who doesn't find him attractive.

  • Yes

    I am with you 110%!

Enough already. How am I supposed to enjoy trashy magazines in the checkout line when they are all about f-ing twilight!

  • No, it's not just you. I'm on that same boat. And as for Pattinson, he reminds me more of a homeless druggie than anything else.

  • You are NOT alone.

Ah, thanks for bringing up memories of the Corey's. : )

  • Don't worry.  Although my household loves the Twilight series, no one in my house thinks that Robert Pattinson is good looking.  I really don't understand America's fascination with him, he really isn't that attractive.
  • I totally agree - all my friends are obsessed with the books and I literally couldn't get through the first 50 pages - the writing was so bad, the plot so stupid.  Ugh!
  • i have to disagree and say that although i do not find rob pattinson attractive I do find the character edward cullen attractive. Have you seen the movie Twilight?

  • I'm right there with you... although I did enjoy the Buffy movie (not the tv show... took itself too seriously)... I'm just not down with the bloodsucking teens... haven't watched True Blood yet, but KNOW that I won't be trotting down the Twilight path. blech.

  • Some love it, some hate it. I'm VERY curious to see how some ladies respond to this however!! Allow the flaming to begin all you Team Edward fans! Joking... (kind of) lol  Stick out tongue
  • CANDICE: totally off subject, but what brand are your jeans? I love the dark wash and pocket design!!!
  • I have no interest whatsoever, and agree with the homeless druggie comment!

  • I don't get it either.
  • I've never seen the movie. However I think the nationwide fascination with it is silly. But whatever floats your boat.
  • I dont' mind the vampire stuff so much, but I'm really not a fan of Robert Pattinson at all.....  I know, let the flaming begin.

I forgot to add that before the pregnancy, I feel asleep while watching Twilight so I definitely am not a fan... but neither were my friends of me when they found out that I slept through most of the movie. Sorry quiet moments, dark lite scenes and soothing music and I'm out like a light.

  • I'm not into Twilight, but I do love True Blood, Lost Boys, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV show and comic books--Joss Whedon rules).  Robert Pattinson needs a shower and a haircut.
  • A LOT of people have just jumped on the vampire bandwagon since the Twilight series have come out. I personally think that's just hype. I've been a fan of vampire movies for years, especially the older classics like "Interview with a Vampire."

And incidentally, I think Robert Pattinson is attractive, but really not THAT hot. Certainly not enough to warrant all the hype!

  • I have to admit I did get into the whole vampire thing this summer. It was kinda my guilty pleasure. However, I am now much more into the True Blood series (and the Sookie Stackhouse books the series is based on) than the Twilight stuff.

I enjoyed the Twilight series and the movie (Edward Cullen is hot, Rob P is not) and I look forward to watching the 2nd movie just to see how they did with making the book into a movie.

Sookie Stackhouse is a much better "adult" read and the series True Blood is pretty much sex with some plotline, LOL!

  • I, for some unknown reason, think Robert Pattinson is sexy. It's probably because I read the books though, and Edward Cullen is my dream man lol.

  • I did like RP in Harry Potter... but then he died... so he could be an immortal vampire??

That's how I see him too. It's kind of disgusting IMO. BUT I love the twilight books.

I've never liked vampires, so I think it's that they are portrayed(sp) in a good light. Otherwise, I like the love story. I'm a sap.

  • I've read all of the Twilight books, they were an easy read while I was on vacation in FL for 2 weeks this past winter.  Only Dan Brown reads faster.  I'm not into the whole vampire thing, I just like simple stuff (fluff) while I'm trying to relax.

I wasn't too fond of the movie, but I'm fond of slightly built men of English heritage with crooked noses and weak chins.  Makes me swoon.  That's why I love new wave music (Dave Gahan still gives me butterflies) and that's why I married DH....

This...but I read the Twilight series a while a go and I started the Sookie Stackhouse series a looooooooong time ago.  So glad she keeps writing more and I am a MUCH bigger True Blood fan than I am a Twlight fan.  I need some good sex mixed in there.

    Did you watch the movie?

I actually tried to read the book...couldn't get into it...and went to see the movie with my sister when it first came out and thought it was mediocre. I guess the pp was right, your either into the whole vampire scene, or your not. IMO, I think that Hollywood is wearing out the vampire scene.

Thanks! Since I can't squeeze into my favorite Citizens or 7s right now, I actually found these at Destination Maternity (not sure the exact brand name)! They are capri's though, have a full panel, and are very comfy Big Smile  I will definately be returning to their jean section when it does finally cool down in Phoenix...around November.

  • Robert Pattinson needs a shower and desperately needs to wash his hair. EWWW.

You are definitely not alone. But it is an unpopular opinion LOL  All my friends are like, you haven't read the Twilight books?????

I haven't read a single Harry Potter either.  I'm sure they're great, I'm just not into that fantasy stuff.

  • The Twilight books are good

However, this is something my younger sisters are into and I just can't seem to jump on the bandwagon.  Robert Pattinson is ok .  But then again, he's not my type.

  • I love the books, love vampires but as for Robert Pattinson not a huge fan.  The movie was terrible!  I do however want to see the next movie.  I am hoping with all the money the first one made it will be much better!
  • YUM..did somebody mention Edward? It's not Robert Pattinson/actor for me but the character he plays in the books/movie.

Delurking from first tri to say THIS!!  EXACTLY!!  Nobody else seems to believe me when I say I tried but failed to read the first book because it was so badly written!
