Since we've started solids, DD has been having some issues when pooping. It appears to hurt her because she cries when she is doing so and it is much thicker now that she is getting solids.
Did this happen to your LO at all? So far we've done rice cereal, oatmeal, squash, sweet potatoes and carrots.
Thanks.
Re: When you started LO on solids, did they have any pooping issues?
You should give her a sippy cup (or bottle if you prefer) with juice/water. It will help keep her from getting constipated. Not too much though. I think they say no more than 4oz a day. HTH.
We had that problem at first... we did rice cereal and mixed it with formula... turns out that the extra iron from the cereal and formula wasn't doing her any favors. So we started mixing with water instead. That helped some. We were also told to give straight prune juice if she got too stopped up - just 1-2 ounces, non-diluted.
Now, she's much better with it. Her poop is more formed but rarely hard anymore and she rarely ever has to strain herself. Good Luck!
