My water broke and she came up to me, sniffed the air and jetted and wouldn't come into the room... even when I called her. It was so out of character and weird.
They wouldn't leave my side; they were very clingy all morning and didn't want my grandparents (who were staying with us for N's birth) anywhere near me. I think they wanted to make sure I was okay and try to make me feel better. My water didn't break, though, so I'm not sure how they would have reacted to that. Probably the odor would have freaked them out.
My water broke in the middle of the night on the carpet. Our smart dog (our other one is mentally challenged) couldn't stop sniffing the carpet. We had to leave right away so he was confused as to why we were leaving in the middle of the night.
My water had to be broken at the hospital and I went into labor in the middle of the night. Our dogs sleep in crates at night so they werent even near me.
