Do girls still play with Barbie?

Just saw a commercial for a new, hip Barbie and her crew. Do your little girls still play with Barbie or is it all about the Disney Princess?

I remember playing with my Barbies for hours. I was so envious of my friends who had that big Barbie house. I only ever had the cardboard one with the elevator . . . What's your favorite Barbie memory?

  • My little ones do but my 8 y/o is so over Barbies.? It makes me sad because I remember playing with them almost to middle school!??

My hippie mom was pretty anti Barbie so I was just excited to have a Skipper.? :)

I hope so! I can't wait until my girls want to play with Barbies- so I can play with them!

I plan to buy them them dream house, the Corvette, etc (all the things I so desperately wanted but never had)

  • My girls play with Barbie all.the.time.  Most of their Barbie stuff is hand-me-downs from myself and my mom (way old school).
  • I never had a Barbie growing up.  My girls LOVE Barbie and my oldest (4yo) will play Barbies all day long.  She's been really into them for 2 years now.  Not so much the Disney stuff.

  • Audrey is starting to play with them and she loves them. I went to my mom's and got my old barbie stuff and she will play with it forever.

  • My 4yo loves her Barbies.  She named them Casey, Stacey, and Basey (I know...hilarious)   ;-)  She does like the Disney princesses too, but isn't crazy about them.  Much more into Barbie.

My favorite Barbie memory is of playing with them with my sister, who was 2 years younger than me.  We didn't even have the cardboard house, so we would make up these elaborate "houses" on our twin beds (we shared a room) and use a bunch of crap from around the house to decorate them.  By the time we were done making our houses, we were too tired to actually play with them.  Good times.
