Parenting after 35

s/o not sleeping in

You do get those things back somewhat.  At the age of 6, my boys knew how to turn on the tv and fix a bowl of cereal.  By 2nd grade they did not wake me up until 9:00.  By the age of 10, they could stay home together (I have twins) while I ran out to get milk or drop off books at the library.  Now that I have a baby again, we're back to the old ways, but it's all good.  I just wanted to let you know that you will get back some of the freedom you have temporarily lost.Smile

Re: s/o not sleeping in

  • I know EVENTUALLY I'll be able to sleep.  But it seems like a distant dream now (with a 2 week old who was up every 2 hours last night, wanting to EAT).

  • I have friends with a 13 year old (we are at the extremes of when we had children) and they can finally leave the house for dinner etc. They keep saying there is hope!!
