Im curious if this is a "normal" thing.
In my family, at wedding and baby showers, we buy all of the guests little gifts. I don't mean favors but litlte inexpensive gifts that are wrapped up.
My family usually gets them from the dollar store and everyone gets to pick their gift out of a basket. I just think its a waste and told my mom we should skip it for my shower and she thought that was a crazy idea. They are just dollar store items and half the people leave them behind anyways. I just think its redundant to do gifts and favors.
Do you do this at your shower?
Re: Giving shower guests gifts?
I agree
I thought about doing some "favor" home made baby theme sugar cookies, but that'll probably be it for the guests
I am however going to do some thank you gifts for my 2 sisters and mom for throwing my shower
I have a feeling we will do this... my mom got some great wedding cake cookies for family & bridal party to snack on during our wedding weekend... I hope she gets them for the shower, too!!
I think that a hostess gift and maybe some sort of party favor is plenty.

Nope, we didn't do this at any of my wedding showers or the baby shower I had already. I think it's a neat idea, but not necessary.
We did favors and I think that's a great idea, but I really don't think people expect to be given gifts at a baby shower.
At our wedding we gave out cookies in the shape of flowers, with our last initial written in icing on them. They were then on lollipop sticks and wrapped in clear plastic.
I wanted to do the same for my shower... but maybe a different shape. And with her first initial written on them.?
