Pea in the Pod?

Is the quality really good?  Worth the extra $?

Re: Pea in the Pod?

  • I think as long as it's a piece you really like, it's worth the $. I have a couple of shirts and a pair of pants I really like. They're worth it because I like the cuts of the clothing better than Gap and Old Navy. I still go to those places when I need a quick little something, but I'd rather have fewer pieces of higher quality.

  • We don't have one here so I don't have any personal experience with them, but from what I've heard, yes, their quality is supposed to be great.
  • I only bought 2 things there so far but I'm impressed with the quality. I think it's worth it for some pieces (jackets, pants you are going to wear a lot, etc) but probably not for basic items like t-shirts and stuff.
  • When I popped in, the quality seemed good, but how long am I really going to need the clothes to hold up? I'm still in my pp clothes at the moment. I would get a few staples (jeans, dress pants, etc) from there and fill in the rest with MM, ON and Gap.
  • For some things, yes.  I bought a lovely black sweater, black pants and a silk top to wear for special occasions during the pregnancy, as well as one pair of their jeans.  They definitely hold up better than Motherhood.  The rest of my things are from Motherhood or Gap Maternity.  I also have a few things from Loft Maternity from my 1st pregnancy.
  • Awesome, thanks ladies!  This is exactly what I was thinking - jeans, maybe a nice pair of pants, maybe a sweater or two from P.i.t.P. and then basics from the cheaper stores.

  • I thought the fit and feel of their clothes was much better than Motherhood.  I don't need my clothes to hold up for very long, but I don't want to look funny or have scratchy pants even for a few months.  I bought some maternity jeans at Pea in the Pod that I wear constantly.  I also bought some super comfortable and reasonably priced work pants at Due Maternity.  I think that's my new favorite store.  :)

We are planning on having more kids, so hopefully I'll get more than just 5/6 months out of these in the long run.

  • I just bought a dress, a pair of dress pants, and cutie tweed blazer there yesterday. I cringed at the price for clothes that seemed so temporary, but I needed two days outfits for a big (really big) work thing in two weeks.

I wasn't feeling the love or liking what I was finding in the other stores that were "work wear" enough for these days, so I splurged. I'm really happy with them, and now I have something lovely to wear through the holiday season too.

They also have a winter coat that I loved. I may go back for that..  or have DH buy it for me as an aniversary gift. ;) That at least I'll wear every day.

  • I thought the stuff seemed exactly like the stuff at Motherhood, but their bras are a lot better and worth the $$.
