Do you think your kid is going to think you are a dork?

I'm not going to go out of my way to be the cool mom or anything but I wonder what my kid is going to think about me. I am 31 years old and I still think my mom is a dork. Today she calls me and is all excited because her "hair guy" is back. He had moved to Vegas to open his own salon 8 months ago and apparently it never happened. I asked her what he had been doing the whole time and she says "Oh he was just a waitress at Red Lobster." I said "You mean a waiter?" She said "No, he's gay."

lol. I def think my children will think me and DH are dorks. We are pretty nerdy, but we keep life fun! As long as we have happiness we should have a great family Big Smile

LOL! Your story cracked me up! I think all kids probably think this about their parents at least a little bit. I don't doubt that my kids will think the same.

Well, our thirteen year old nephew lives with us and he definitely thinks so. I'm sure it'll be no different when ours are big.

No, not at all...I think the DH and I are pretty cool! lol But then...the kid may have a different perception. I am only 20 and DH is 21, so we will see what happens.

I think all kids think there parents are dorks at one point or another or forever. I feel like we'll be on the cool side, mostly because we are the types that go do random fun things for the weekend with out planning anything. Who knows our kid could be the dork in this house LOL

Oh our poor child doesn't stand a chance. He'll be such a nerd. We both graduated from the "nerd school" in the state (NMTech). We just designed a quilt pattern based on the Fibonacci sequence...which says a lot right there.

i'd like to think that i'm pretty cool hence my screename...lol...or I wish so badly to be. but i'm SURE our kids will think we're dorks. i already get the looks from the tweens at the mall like I belong to the iceage or something and i'm only 27!

That is the coolest thing ever (seriously!). Then again, I coach Scholastic Bowl. Our kid is also hosed in the nerds-for-parents department. It probably doesn't help that DH has said that he will make it his business to embarrass our kids when they're teenagers. He's kidding, right?
