Anterior Placenta - 3d u/s

I heard/read that if you have an anterior placenta that 3d u/s won't really be worth getting because you won't be able to see baby's face.  Has anyone gotten a 3d/4d ultrasound with an anterior placenta?  Kinda don't want to waste the money if i'm not going to get clear pictures.

  • I have seen some good ones.  I am going to give it a shot next week and make sure I am really well hydrated.  I am only spending $60...

  • I had one done last week. It wasn't the best quality, but it wasn't bad either. I had it done really early so that may be the reason, too.

  • My doctor's office does their own 3D in office. The tech there told me a while ago to get the 3D done between 26 and 28 weeks if you have an anterior placenta because after then the baby starts to run out of room and is sort of smushed up against the placenta. I had mine at 25w6d and we got some amazing shots. Some were more blurry, but for the most part we got some good ones. The tech had me turn on my side and that's when we got the best pictures because my placenta wasn't in the way. I posted some on my blog www.ithoughtilovedyouthen.blogspot.com. For me it was worth it :)
