I apologize if this has been asked before, I am new to this particular board. DH and I lost our baby girl last week and we would each like to get her initials tattooed on us (I also plan to get the initials of my other two as well!). We are NOT tattoo people ordinarily so I really have no idea. Is this safe to do while pumping? I assume so, but wanted to make sure. Thank you.

Re: Dumb question - is it safe to get a tattoo while pumping/breastfeeding?
*waves* Hi, M$B! Sending lots of hugs your way.
Kellymom says it's safe: https://www.kellymom.com/health/lifestyle/mom-activities.html#Tattoos
This may be obvious, but try to get a referral to a shop from someone you know/think is clean.
I don't know if you're set on initials, but have you thought of getting Annaliegh's footprint as a tattoo? Maybe this is tacky, it just struck me as a sweet thing to do. I'm not big on the tattoo's of a child's face on dad's arm, but a footprint seems different. I was thinking along the lines of the little bird footprint tattoos the Dixie Chicks each have on top of there foot.
Some (maybe most) tattoo artists can take a drawing or scanned image and make it a tattoo. They can shrink it down to a smaller image if you want. So they could do it from the hospital's footprint.
I have a small tattoo of the chinese symbol for "hope" on my back and there were many times through IF that I took comfort in having it. (I got it in HS).
I got a tattoo while I was pregnant - my OB okayed it, I couldn't find any reason not to, and there were no ill effects. I can't imagine it would be OK during pregnancy and not while breastfeeding.
I am very sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers.
