Oh my goodness!! I have had the worst headaches ever since I found out I was pregnant. They come and go. Caffeine usually doesn't help either. I'm sorry to hear that but I'm right there in the boat with you.
I just have to lay down with an ice pack on my forehead....I also read on parenting.com that headaches could be a symptom of pre-eclampsia, but then I read somewhere else that headaches are normal...
Yeah I've been having them for months. My OB's given me several prescriptions to try but with the worse the only that works is phenergan + vicodin + coke + ice + dark room. If they are bad enough you are missing work I would definitely ask your OB for something.
I had them almost daily for a month and a half, a couple of them complete debilitating. My OB recommended caffeine (up to 3 cups of regular coffee) and tylenol daily, and gave me a script for Tylenol 3 for the severe ones. Luckily the caffeine has helped a lot and I haven't had to use the T3.
I just started getting them. I had one for over 24 hours. My doctor prescribed phenergan. It is anti-nausea but it also makes you really sleepy. He said that maybe if I slept deeply enough than the headache would go away, and it worked. Plus the headache had made me nauseous as well. It was a win-win situation. Maybe you can try that?! I also am drinking more water now.
