  • Last week I....? Did you accomplish last weeks goals...

    Yes I did.

What are your intentions/goals for this week?:

    Walk the 1.4 miles 4 times a week.  I already did 3.

Question ~ How are you going to handle/juggle exercising with a new baby?

Well, I purchased a body bar that weighs 9 pounds to trim my lower legs. Next I will purchase a work out DVD.  Then, I think once I get final clearance, I'll start hiking in the local mountains in LA. I'll hike/take walks 4-5 times a week.

Yes and no. We ran as much as we planned on, but were a little behind because of my friend's 5K. But we DID do what we scheduled and we are finding the program very easy/gentle. :o)

What are your intentions/goals for this week?:

I have a run with my RB tonight. We have a run planned Sunday morning and we'll start the next week on Tuesday. I have been introducing the One hour runner to my RB and she is warming to the idea. It is a 10 week program, so with the rest of the C25K and the one hour runner, I have the next 3 months solidly planned out and a fairly good idea what I want for the next year. For a planner, that is Nirvana

Question ~ How are you going to handle/juggle exercising with a new baby?

At first, I left her with DH because it was so warm and her carseat that we attached to the jogger was so hot for that long of a time. Now she can sit in the actual stroller and sometimes I take her along. She really enjoys it and talks and coos which gives my us some much needed comic relief! I hope that by bringing her it helps her to learn healthy, balanced exercising habits and by doing this early it stops me from using having a baby as an excuse.

I bet those are some beautiful hikes! You'll have to post some PIPs of the views!

Negative!  Its LA!  I see the porn capital on one side and West Hollywood on the other! I wish it were more like Upstate NY. I so want to move to the country.

I think so - I was loyal to my exercise schedule and have been going for hour long walks every night with the family too. I've also been very diligent about my diet - keeping it clean.

I loaned my maternity jeans out on Monday - I don't want the crutch. As it happens I got into another 2 pairs of my regular pants this week.  I am seeing some subtle changes with DH too - he can't escape the influence!

What are your intentions/goals for this week?:

Well, I said I would start running again on Sept 1 and I will stick to that. Otherwise, I'm not planning to do anything differently. I'm going to keep at it.

Question ~ How are you going to handle/juggle exercising with a new baby?

Good question. It was sooooo hard to do anything on the days that I worked before I got pregnant - most days I don't even see the sun. One good thing is that I now have a consistent work schedule so I can plan to always do a longer run on one day of the week etc. The only way I see this working is to get up and do it early in the morning before the rest of the house is awake..

For some reason, I thought there were pretty hills and stuff. I'm not sure where/how I came under that impression...

  • My goal was "figure out some way to get some exercise."  My knees have been bothering me, which means I need to get off my bum.  We went and walked around the mall on Sunday, I did about ten minutes of an exercise video on Tuesday, and yesterday & today I took Stella out in her stroller for walks around the neighborhood.

This week's goal is the same. I am not ready to tackle the diet yet, although I have been making an effort to eat fruits & veggies and it works on most days.

How are you going to handle/juggle exercising with a new baby? I have no clue! The only way I have managed thus far is to include her in the exercise, which will get harder once I go back to work.  Daycare is a long-ish walkable distance, so depending how my schedule works out I may be able to walk over and pick her up after work.

    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.

This was my first week back at work. My goal was to walk every day and to try to eat well. I walked every day but one and did OK on the healthy eating side. My weight loss from BF'ing is done, I think. I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but my body is very, very soft.

What are your intentions/goals for this week?:
To continue walking every day. I'd like to add jogging in. If I pick the kids up, I figure I can jog there, then walk home with them, but we'll see how that goes (we don't have a double jog stroller yet... I want to see if I'll actually jog first). I'm hoping to go to a fitness class on Monday if I can squeeze it in between work and pumping.

Question ~ How are you going to handle/juggle exercising with a new baby?
I'm a bit stressed about this one! The key is scheduling the time on my calendar, I think. I'm lucky to work at home so can get dinner started or in the crockpot during the day which helps. Daycare is within walking distance so I can walk at least once a day to drop off or pick up. What I really need to add is strength training.
