2nd Trimester

would you go to the ER for this?

around 17/8 weeks i had lots of cramping and bleeding-a threatened miscarriage caused by a placental abruption. about a week ago, i called the after hrs line and said i had light spotting and cramping again, they told me to just rest. since yesterday i have been feeling weird, and having a strange feeling that the baby isnt okay. then this morning, i feel like i do when i get my period, bad back cramps, and the urge (and ability) to poop a lot. would you go to the ER for bad back crmaping and a feeling that something isnt right?

?

i also weighed myself just now and it seems as though i have lost two pounds since yesterday?

Re: would you go to the ER for this?

  • Not yet, since it's during the week, I'd call the dr. office first. They can give you some instructions from there.

    Good Luck!

  • I'm probably wouldn't go to the ER before calling my Dr to see what they have to say.  They may just want you to come into their office, if not then I'd consider the ER.  I hope that everything is ok for you and your LO.

  • If you are worried, I say go to the ER.  Better to be on the safe side.

    Good luck to you.

  • Call your doc asap
  • If you think something is wrong call your OB.  You don't want to take any chances!

  • YES! I would always want to be reassured if nothing else.  I've decided not to take any chances with baby.

  • I would call my doctor first and see what they say to do.  You should be able to reach him/her.  If you can not reach your doctor I would suggest taking a visit to the ER.

In my opinion - if you even have to think that the ER is an option... then you should just go.  Better to just be safe.

  • I would call the Dr. first.  You really do not want to go to the ER where there's a bunch of sick people that have God knows what and you can get it too -- which you dont need!

  • Something similar happened to me this week - i called my doctor first, then they instructed me to go to the hospital to get checked out.  We were able to go directly to "labor and delivery" rather than having to sit in the emergency room with all the sick people!
