Personally I don't understand doing it because it guarantees that you can only use that diaper bag for that baby. You have to buy a new one for the next baby, which seems unnecessary.

See - this is why I post on here. Things I never think of.
But, since we won't be having #2 for at least 2 years after this one, I probably will want another bag by that point. And I tend to destroy things. But it's a thought to keep in mind, especially cost wise.
I would go with the LO's initials. Or if you don't want initials you can just put the first name on there. I was going to put "Emma" or "Emma Claire" on mine.
LO's and I personally went though several bags with my DD and will definately be getting another bag for this child. They are just too cute to not switch up every now and then!
I was thinking about getting a bag that can be a diaper bag but also have my stuff in it. So i was thinking putting mine on it. I may get one for him too that has his but more for extra stuff (toys, clothes, blankes, etc). But I figure I'll be carring it I want it to be for me.
If you want a multi-use diaper bag....either for you and LO or for next LO, consider just the last name on there. That way it works for all of you (in most cases--this didn't work out for my SIL, her boys have dad's name instead of hers but they are too adorable monsters who destroy things like bags anyways so no personalizing needed...lol)
Re: If you are putting initials on your diaper bag -
