1. Cutting a naptime. The girls are taking 2-3 naps a day. They want to sleep but then their last nap they are waking up at 5 and going to bed at 10 and then they sleep like crap. Right now they are sleeping because they were up all night. I was thinking just a nap after lunch (going down between 12:30 and 1). Have you tried this? Should I just let them continue to go down for naps when they want? TIA
2. Moms that work out of home, do you get everything ready (lunch for you/baby, clothes laid out etc) in the morning or at night? I think at night, I'll want to play with the girls, spend time with hubby then to bed at 9 because I have to get up at 530 but if I wait til morning, I'm afraid I won't have enough to get ready. I guess I'll figure it out when I start working but I want to hear what works for you.

Re: Two questions..
1. I can't help Fen dropped his second nap early in age and on his own.
2. I make everything the night before usually either after DS has gone to bed or when DH gets home it makes the morning routine run much smoother since I have to be out the door early.
1. DS takes 1-2 naps a day. One in the AM and one in the afternoon. I 'like' the naps to be at 9:30ish and 3ish, however, it rarely works out that way anymore. He will take one good nap in the morning and we hope to get him another nap in the afternoon. A lot of times at daycare he is sleeping when I pick him up at 5:15. At home, we do not let him go down for a nap after 4pm even if that means he only has one nap a day. He also goes to bed for the night at 7-7:30 and will sleep until 6am on the weekdays or 7:30ish on the weekends.
2. DH and I both get up around 5:20am for the day. We will get ready, make our lunches, prep Ty's AM sippy and then I will wake Ty up at 5:55ish and give him his sippy, change & dress him for the day. My DH will be taking care of the dog at this time. I leave for work at 6:20am and DH still has about 15 minutes to get everything out of the frige and ready for daycare. DH will take Ty to daycare around 6:35am.
We don't get Ty's clothes ready at night, but maybe we should b/c I never know what to dress him in for the day. We do prep all sippy cups & food for DS the night before.
Our night routine looks like this: I pick DS up from daycare and play with him, etc. while DH preps dinner. I will feed DS around 6pm his dinner and we will eat around 6:15. While we are eating, we have finger foods for DS as well. After dinner, either DH or I will clean up while the other plays with DS. DH will also make formula for the next day somewhere in here. We will then play with DS together for a few minutes (length depends on how tired DS is). We then do the night time routine and put DS to bed. After that I spend about 15 minutes on the computer and then go downstairs to prep DS's food for the next day and clean up a little bit. We are usually done with all of this around 8:30 and then we relax and watch some tv and go to bed around 10pm.
I will say that the evening routine is very tiring. It is jam packed. I do not sit down or get a moment to myself until after 8:30 (besides the 10-15 min of computer time). it was difficult to get used to this kind of schedule for us, but I think that we have it down now. The one thing I will say is that for us to make this work we both really need to come together to make it work, otherwise I would be up very late trying to get everything done.
We have had some issues b/c DH likes to take a walk after work (not sure why I don't get the same luxury) and that will take up about 1 hour of time; he does get home before me so it probably is only 25 minutes of time after DS & I get home. Sometimes I get a little mad b/c I don't get any time for myself and DH doesn't understand why I am tired during the evenings some days. We have talked about switching our schedule so we will eat after DS goes to bed, however, we like having a family dinner so we haven't switched it yet.
Well, this is an enormously long post so I am going to stop typing now...
1. I can't help with dropping naps since DD is still so young.
2. I do everything at night because I forget things if I rush around in the morning! DD goes to bed 8:30/9 and then I spend an hour washing bottles, making bottles, getting clothes out, making my lunch, packing my pump, work bag, diaper bag, etc. DH helps some, but he is getting a second degree and uses that hour for homework. I am in bed by 10:30/11 and I get up at 5 a.m. (with one overnight nursing around 3 a.m.)
1. DS has not taken a second nap since he was about 11 months old. DS will take a 2-3 hour nap starting at abotu 1 or 2pm. My opinion... at 1 year old your daughters do not need 3 naps a day- they need an earlier bedtime. They are sleeping all day and not getting enough solid sleep at night. Keep them super busy when they are use to napping in the morning and then after about a week they won't even notice. I would think for them going to daycare they wouldn't be able to keep up with 3 naps.
Hope this helps...
2. Can't help ya since I sah

My MIL is going to be watching them. She and my dh put them down at 2/3 and let them sleep until 5. I'm not home to stop it so I'm going to tell dh they only get 1 nap, use it wisely hehe.
1.) Miles takes 1 two hour nap during the day. This is standard at our daycare and he's taken very well to it.
2.) I get his stuff ready at night before bed, but that's because I'm generally in a big rush in the mornings and have been known to forget something every time I try to do it in the morning.
