I've gained 10 (mostly in my boobs!), but my bump is so, so tiny. I've read how some of you girls are further along than me (16 wks) and are down as much as 6 lbs. Is this from m/s or diet or what? I don't want to gain weight and want to do whatever it is you are doing!
Re: Down lbs? How? What are you eating?
I would not worry about your weight gain that much. Is perfectly okay to gain weight, the only difference is that some of us gain weight earlier in pregnancy others later.
Diets are a big NO-NO during pregnancy. As long as you eat healthy and avoid eating for two, you can't do much wrong.
I lost 5 lbs during the first months of my pregnancy because of severe m/s. But since then I have already gained 14 lbs so far - I am not worried at all!!
I try to eat healthy, don't like sodas and hardly ever eat junk food. That's all! No diet!!
Think like this: Everything changes in your body and not only your boobs started to grow, also your blood volume increases, you uterus, your fluid volume, the amniotic fluid....etc.
What do you mean you dont want to gain weight? You're growing a human being. The odds of you putting on a few pounds are pretty good.
While I am still down about 4 pounds from my prepregnancy weight, I am not doing anything to stay here, in fact I want to gain weight! Dieting and trying not to gain weight is dangerous for your baby.... your baby's health and your health should be the utmost concern at this point not the numbers on the scale...
Even plus size women are told by their doctors to gain between 10-25 pounds, depending on the woman.... Please don't diet or try not to gain weight... you are risking your baby's health...

Like a PP said, everyone gains weight at different times in their pregnancy. I was down 13 lbs by week 11 and I didn't throw up once. By week 32 I had gained that 13lbs back, plus 8 lbs. By week 34 I'd gained an additional 7lbs, and at my 35 wk appt a few days ago I was up another 5 for a total of 20lbs gained from my pre-preg weight. My eating habits haven't changed at all in the last several months and I think I'm just one who packs it on at the end of her pregnancy.
Do NOT worry about the number on the scale, as long as you're getting the nutrition you need and you and your baby are healthy, it doesn't matter. You are going to gain weight, accept it now and move on!

This. Gaining weight is a fact of being pregnant. Your body needs nourishment, and proper nourishment at that. While it is not healthy to go all out crazy, you are going to gain weight. The new guidelines say that if you have a normal BMI (18.5-24.9 kg/m2) you should gain between 25-35 lbs. More info here https://www.babycenter.com/0_pregnancy-weight-gain-what-to-expect_1466.bc

I'm still down six because my nausea/morning sickness is still awful. Believe me, you don't want to do what I'm doing...it's torture. I wish I could enjoy food. I wish I could put on some weight.
The grass is not greener over here, I promise.
Well I have never admitted this to anyone other than my dr (obviously) and dh, but I have lost near 30 lbs. Yes that says thirty and isn't a typo. I was pretty overweight when I started out and I had to drastically change my diet when I found out about my diabetes early on. I vowed I would eat healthy and right for my child (and myself) from the very beginning. I was also at the gym 6 days a week (up until a week ago) doing cardio and minor weight lifting.
?
My dr is not concerned at all, and in fact we haven't had a weight discussion ever. I feel some gain coming on soon though as I get ready to hit the same second tri growth spurt I got with my son. I always feel hungry now. Although I do have a touch of 2nd tri MS mixed with the inability to eat ANY dairy products without my stomach turning in knots for the next hour or so.

My baby is growing and my belly is growing for sure, I am just losing weight in my legs, butt, arms, and face.?
I'd go ahead and part with the weight gain fears now. It's should happen for most everyone... I'm overweight and even I'm supposed to gain 15-20lbs - and it will happen eventually.
The only change I made from pre-PG is that I divide my usual intake into 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day out of necessity. A "normal," pre-PG sized meal makes me too full too quickly and brings on wicked heartburn.
I tend to avoid "bad carbs" and stick to whole grain/wheat due to insulin resistance anyway but I'm not above a french fry. Or dark chocolate peanut M&Ms. MMmmm.
it's from m/s and lack of appetite.
i don't recommend puking every day for 22 weeks. seriously. enjoy your weight gain. this is a shiiitty post.
I've only gained 3lbs so far this pregnancy -nothing I'm excited about, actually something that's concerning to me. I think that since I'm eating 5 small meals a day since the beginning, it's boosted my metabolism, even though I'm eating plenty of calories/fat (probably much more than the recommended 300 extra calories a day, except I'm getting them through healthy foods, not cake and ice cream). If you're worried about gaining too much weight, eat lots of healthy foods and don't splurge everyday on junk food. As others have said, dieting during pregnancy is very unhealthy so don't do that.
I wouldn't be envious-it's much too early in your pregnancy. Some people pop early and then don't put on a lot of weight at all towards the end, while others get a later start with the weight gain. SIL was up 20lbs by 20 weeks, only ended up gaining 25lbs by the end. Another friend had horrible MS up until 20 weeks and had lost weight, ended up being up 45lbs by the end.
